my first mosaic wall hanging

my first mosaic wall hanging

This my most recent mobile in blues.  I love the drift wood
collected from Tranquile Creek recently.

This is the first attempt of a project to use these magnificent\buttons
I collected over a period of 9mths from a source that sells discontinue\
buttons.  I realized over that period that I was collecting this type button
in several different colours and sizes and realized they should be displayed
in a form that would enhance their beauty.  I love this but there is too much unused
space so below is my second but not final attempt as I used a smaller background and
more buttons.

This is the second attempt and I like the idea of the smaller background
and using glass to cover with a frame to mount, however, I used a glue
gun and it is messy.  It doesn't allow for mistakes on cardboard so there
are a few imperfections.  So I have a new thin board and will soak the cardboard
away and remove all the glue gun glue (using rubbing alcohol).  It will be a
labour of love and I will use flue tape for the boarder and then glue dots for the rest.
I hope to post the final piece soon.  I think I will use gold flake on the old frame as well.

hanging sculptures

not quite finished yet but I'm loving the colour combo

miracle boxes

This is unfinished and waiting  to be baked and for beads to be added.  I gave the finished product away and forgot to capture the  final creation.  It was a box found at Value Village and upcycled.

This is a finished Miracle Box.  A friend gave me the box which was a gift box for wine but I like this so much better.    Inside it has a tile that says "All that lies inside is so"  .  The objective is to write down things you desire as though they are already so and put them in the box.

I can see a few bracelets or another belt from these....who knows..and that's the fun in creative play!!!:)

Button Belts

my new button belt obsession..I had mmany ideas about how to close the belt but this seemed the easiest
It wasn't quite long enough to drape on the hip of the person  I made it for...so try again!!
Its funny, I had all these beautiful natural brown buttons that  I  ignored for the more  "pretty ones".  Now  I am so in love with the layering of colours as well as natural tone on tone.  I have a new obsession and will be looking for a big bag of brownies next!

Almost done....have to make sure it drapes and then will take a picture of the completed project on my model :)
